CHAPS' Peer Support Program (PSP) is a peer-to-peer service which helps people with mental illnesses achieve recovery. The program assists persons with mental illness to develop new meaning, purpose and satisfaction in life. Peers in helper roles have the unique capacity to inspire hope, trust, personal responsibility, empowerment, self-determination and social connectedness in their fellow consumers. Peer Support activities will build upon each person's skills and strengths along their journey to reach their recovery goals.
